HAPPY EASTER!!!!!!
This amazing Easter weekend Sean and I have been working on a little bit of spring cleaning, a little bit of copper stripping* and I was getting my ducks all in a row for the month of April. I have my phone calendar, my physical calendar, my meal planning note book, and my cookbooks all lined up, and open and I am working on the month of April.
I started meal planning a little more heavily because I had challenged myself to not eat out for the month of February. I was burnt out at the end of December and we were eating out too much and spending too much money on stupid things, so I thought, "self... you need to get a hold of things again!" So I did... And I have learned so much about myself over the past 3 months. Let me tell you all about it, and then I'll dive into the meal planning portion.
So... Sean and I are going on a cruise this summer and both his younger brother and my older brother are getting married, so I knew there were going to be a lot of pictures taken of me over the summer. January came up and I knew that I had time enough to get my poop in a group and try to get a better hold on my health and my weight.
I started in January by being aware of my time and how much I was wasting. I wanted to be intentional about my time and what I did with that time. January and February were really busy for me with Mary Poppins, so I wanted to take advantage of my days off and the time I had at home to take care of my family.
February I started reading a bible study called "Weight Loss God's Way" that just talked about getting your sin in check, because that will help you release the weight. One of the challenges that it gave me was to exercise 15 mins a day for 21 days. So, I started going on my elliptical machine for 15 minutes (almost) every day. I didn't always get my 15 minutes in, but I made an effort to try.
March I wanted to be more aware of what I was eating. I signed up again with "MyFitnessPal" and use the app on my phone. I have realized how much I eat that I don't need to, and also how much crap food I eat that I don't need. One day I went over my calorie count by 500 calories, and every single one was in the DQ Moolate that I got in the city. Did I need it? No! Did I want it?? Sure did! So, being aware of what I want and what I need is a good thing to get into.
So, this month I am going to focus on eating BETTER! More veggies, less carbs, and smaller portions. There are some meals that are on the April meal plan that are not good choices for me, so I will make sure to have salad available to me, so that I don't take in that many calories. Here is what I have so far.
1) Dinner @ Mom and Dad's
2) Leftovers
3) Chicken/Broccoli with Starch and Veg
4) Pork Chops with Potatoes and Carrots
5) Chicken Stirfry
6) Meat Balls with Starch and Veg

22) Dinner @ Mom and Dad's
23) Sweet and Sour Pork w/ Rice & Veg
24) Tacos
25) Butter Chicken
26) Spaghetti w/ Tomato Meat sauce and Salad.
27) Eat Out!
There we go. These are all tried and true recipes... Some of them Sean isn't too fond of, but he will eat them because he doesn't eat for joy... he eats to survive. So, if he doesn't like it, he doesn't mind. I just try to stick to only one or two meals in a month that I really LOVE, even if he doesn't care for it.
Also, starting in March, I have gotten a little more invested in my essential oils. Nothing super serious, but I have started using them a lot more, and really seeing the benefits of the oils. Some of my things are:
Using Frankincense *Frank* and Tea Tree Oils in my face lotion (keeps my skin healthy)
Using Peppermint oil in my hair moisture cream (keeps my hair strong)
Putting Frank and Lavender in my girls' hair before bed (Helps them fall asleep within minutes)
Using Joy on my wrists (smells yummy)
Rubbing 2 drops of Progessence on the back of my neck 2x daily (I have already seen a HUGE difference)
Taking some home made capsules*
*The capsules are a new development and I don't have any results to share as of yet, but if/when I see a difference, I'll let y'all know. They have Orange, Frank, Lemon, Grapefruit and Digize in them. The next batch will also have peppermint in them. They are specifically for weight management, and digestion.
So, that is all I have to share this time around. If you have any questions, please leave comments... either here, or on my fb post. Blessings and Happy Easter!
