Let me just start by saying I am one of THOSE people....
I LOVE MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!
Growing up, birthdays were always super special. We would get a special breakfast and a present before school. Then after school we would get a special snack and a special birthday dinner with family. We got to choose the meal. When I was in the earlier elementary grades we would get to bring cupcakes to school, and we would get a party that was on the weekend around our actual birthday. Because my birthday is September 4 my birthday usually fell somewhere around the first day of school. It was all good. My little brother was born in July and so he usually didn't get as many friends coming to his parties because his birthday was in the summer and everyone was on holidays. The rest of us got to have lots of fun with our friends. I even got excited about my brothers birthdays because that meant their friends were going to come over (and they were usually pretty cute). I still have memories of my oldest brother's birthday where him and his friends put balloons in their shirts and ran around outside saying, "I'm Dolly Parton!" I think it was the year he turned 12. Lol.
So now, as an adult I just LOVE my birthday. And I love my girls birthdays too. I was so excited to know that both girls have their birthdays during the school year so we can have fun parties. I even love making a big deal about Sean's birthday, but he doesn't care, so I try to not make TOO big of a deal!!
Well, this year is a very special year because today is my last day of my 20's. That's right. I'm gonna be 30 tomorrow. Yay me!!!!! I am so excited to be 30. I figure, it's going to happen anyway so may as well be excited about it. Also, my 20's have been so great to me that I cannot wait to see what my 30's will bring. Jenni has started school and Maria starts extra curricular activities. I am heading into a whole new phase of life, and yeah, it will be busy, and yes it will be expensive, but it is gonna be AWESOME!!!!
