Five days and counting....

Well, it is Friday and I have managed to build some kind of routine for my days. This whole week I have been sure to eat breakfast and I have been counting my calories, very honestly I might add. On Monday I was over my calorie count for 2 reasons. The first reason is that spaghetti and meat sauce has a ridiculous amount of calories, and the second reason is that I had a Peach Snapple. That is 160 calories in a DRINK!!! If I eat 3 cups of watermelon all cut up it is only 99 calories and fills me up a whole lot more. So, I guess... No more peach Snapple. :-(

The other part of my routine is that I have been cleaning my kitchen every night after dinner and it is making a huge difference in my attitude. Waking up to a clean kitchen just starts my day well. So, I am planning on keeping that up. Here's to building a good habit that will help teach my children good habits. Jenni also has a job every night. She has to put away the cutlery. It is really good for her to learn responsibility and it is good for me because then I don't have to put the cutlery away. Phew!!!

So... All this hard work is paying off already because I weighed myself on Thursday morning and I am already down 4 lbs. Whoooooooo!!!! So I am really happy about that. I just feel like that if I keep this up and really focus on the goal of becoming more disciplined then I will achieve my goal. I know it has only been a week, but as far as I understand it is the hardest in the first week and then you start developing a habit.

Yesterday I had one of my accountability sisters come and we had a really great chat. It was so nice to talk with her and to hear her perspective on where I am at. I feel like it is going to be awesome to have such a noble, Godly woman as someone to walk through this with me. I feel very blessed.

As mentioned before, I really feel like the most important part of the journey is to focus on the self discipline part of my goals and not so much the physical part of the goals. Losing weight is a perk of being more disciplined in my eating and exercise habits. Having a more productive day is a perk of being more disciplined in my morning routine and bible study habits. So, baby steps!!! I can get there. :-)

My next post I am going to focus on writing about my calorie goals and how I plan on getting there.
