Ok... So today being my day off I decided to be ambitious and do a bunch of yard work.
What was I thinking??????
I mean, sure it is looking good and everything, but it is so much.... Well.... WORK!!!!!
First of all, I cleaned out the corner flower bed by my entrance. Yay!! It was a very good thing to do. I cut stuff down so it will come back next year, but also so it won't be in my way when I go to plant my tulip and daffodil bulbs next month.
THEN.....
(Here's where it gets ridiculous)
I decided to trim my hedges. Now, I asked my neighbour if I could borrow his electric hedge trimmers (awesome) earlier this week, because I was actually planning on doing all this work. So, I went and got the hedge trimmers and started working. I trimmed along the path beside our house and the the front hedges. When I started they were at least 8 feet tall but now, after hours and HOURS of work they are about 6 feet tall and no longer hang over the sidewalk. With clean up it took me about 8 hours to get just those few things done.
SERIOUSLY?!?!?!?!!?!?
Ok. I know that is actually a really huge job. I did manage to trim down, significantly, about 35 feet of hedge. This is quite the undertaking. And it was about 28 degrees most of the day. But.... Oh man!!!! What hard work. It just seems like after ALL that work there would be more to show for it.
As for the pain I am in now.... ??
KILLER!!!!!!
Yeah, that is right. Killer pain. My arms and legs and feet are just ready to be done for the night. In the UPPER 20 workout in TurboFIRE it talks about momentary muscle failure. Let me tell you. Get Chalene Johnson to use and hedge trimmer for an entire afternoon and even she'll get momentary muscle failure. It is hard work using one of those things.
Anyhoo. I am exhausted from a productive day, so I am gonna veg with my plain yogurt with fresh blueberries.
G'night!!!!!
